The safe disposal of clinical waste is vital to protect healthcare employees and members of the public. Every year many employees are injured or suffer infections caused by contact with clinical waste. Much of this contact could have been prevented if Health Service Managers operated and monitored effective procedures to separate clinical waste from other materials.
