A huge outage across Sky Broadband services are causing havoc this morning with websites and mobile banking.
Users are struggling to connect to their emails, websites and Natwest banking due to a widespread DNS problem. Sky Broadband are aware of the issue and it’s currently under investigation.
The reports we are hearing is that users cannot access websites due to a routing error in Sky’s network. The suggested course of action at the moment is for employees and customers to use a different network to make sure they can continue with services.
The issue is affecting businesses like Fasthosts, who are having trouble allowing Sky users to connect to their services. The knock-on effect of this is huge as Fasthosts keep over 1 million domains running and see over 42 million emails go through their system every day.
With more people now working from home, this issue cannot have come at a worse time for employers and employees trying to work remotely.
More information as soon as we get it … !
UPDATE: 10.40AM
Sky are reporting that this issue has now been resolved and users should now be able to access services as normal.
