Corrosion Test Chambers
ManufacturingCorrosion Test Chambers The corrosion chambers come in two sizes:
the 480 litre version and the 950 litre version both with a brine reservoir of approximately 180 litres.
The salt solution is sprayed into the test chamber through a nozzle located in the top of the test chamber. The compressed air required is heated in a pressurised humidifier and saturated with moisture before it enters the test chamber. More stingent testing calls for an atmosphere containing SO² in a condensation water-alternating climate. This test is possible with our standard corrosion test cabinet with SO² gas closing device.
The test chamber is made from special fibreglass with reinforced plastic laminate making it light and easy to move whilst robust and able to withstand accidents.
Examples of standards typically used are:
Salt fog testing as specified in DIN 50021
Condensed water test as specified in DIN 50017 and EN ISO 6988
Standard climates as specified by DIN 50015
