Leading refractometer and polarimeter manufacturer Bellingham + Stanley, a Xylem brand, has been awarded accreditation from Safecontractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety.
“Safecontractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme that recognises very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors and membership is an important part of our customer services,” says Kevin Wilson, contracts coordinator at Bellingham + Stanley. “We now have greater access to existing and potentially new customers that are also part of the scheme as they will recognize our ability to work safely whilst visiting their sites” Kevin Wilson continued.
Bellingham + Stanley’s refractometers and polarimeters are primarily used in the food, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries to control the concentration of liquid products and also as a test for purity. The instruments provided by Bellingham + Stanley in the United Kingdom, including the TitroLine® Series of automatic titrators manufactured by Xylem’s SI Analytics brand, often require on-site commissioning, validation and maintenance. Bellingham + Stanley employs over 40 people in its United Kingdom facility, 7 of which are principally involved in the after sales sector.

Under the Safecontractor scheme, businesses undergo a vetting process which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website. Client organisations that sign up to the scheme can access the database, enabling them to vet potential contractors before they even set foot on site.
